Firmenich, one of the world’s largest flavor houses, inaugurated its new perfumery plant in Geneva earlier this month. With a 90% automation rate, the factory is one of the most technologically-advanced in the industry. It is also the largest manufacturing facility among the Group’s 28 plants, and it will produce one-quarter of its fragrances worldwide.

The CHF 60 million new facility represents the most significant investment made by Firmenich in the last decade and confirms the company’s deep commitment to Geneva, where it was founded in 1895. "With this ambitious industrial project, we are strengthening our center of excellence in Geneva for our long term growth”, said Patrick Firmenich, Chairman of the Group, in a press release.

Firmenich is renowned for its world-class research and creativity. The company has created many of the world’s best-known perfumes and flavors that billions of consumers enjoy each day, and invests 10% of its turnover in R&D every year.
