From September 26 to 29, some 8,000 business leaders and decision makers from international financial institutions will gather in Geneva to attend Sibos, the world’s premier financial services event organized annually by SWIFT. The conference will also be a showcase for Swiss innovation in the financial sector: twenty-four among the finest Swiss FinTech start-ups will present their innovative solutions to the global financial community at the “Swiss FinTech Corner”. The initiative was spearheaded by the Canton of Geneva and supported by the Geneva Financial Center, AlpICT, Barclays, Temenos and the Swiss FinTech Association.

“Switzerland has an incredible potential to emerge on the global stage as a leader in innovative financial services. The presence of a first-rate financial center combined with leading-edge infrastructure, research institutions and technology incubators, creates ideal conditions. The presence of Sibos in Geneva offers a unique opportunity to highlight our expertise in financial technology and advertise our excellence to an international audience,” said Geneva State Councilor Pierre Maudet in a press release.

Sibos had already taken place in Switzerland’s second largest city in 1993 and 2002.
